On Sunday, Elgton Jenkins was held out of practice. Coming off of an ACL injury this is not what Packers fans wanted to hear. When asked about it, head coach Matt LaFleur downplayed the absence saying that it was not related to the knee. This led to many Packers fans wondering what was going on. The conspiracy theories started to run rampant. However, it seems like all is well . Packers star offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins was back at practice today.

Elgton Jenkins Back At Practice

Jenkins was still present at Sunday’s practice. He rode the stationary bike and was with the team but did not participate in any team drills. Many people started speculating of what the Packers were thinking in terms of Jenkins. He is due for an extension and many fans began wondering whether the Packers were thinking of trading Jenkins. In the age of the internet, conspiracy theories spread like wildfire. Having the Packers star lineman back at practice today should help dispel any rumors. It may have been a number of things some of which may have included giving the knee a rest but the Packers are not looking to move on from Jenkins.

Will Jenkins Be Ready Week 1?

It would be surprising to see David Bakhtiari week 1. However, Jenkins seems more likely. The news out of camp has been positive. He looks good in camp and has been playing on the right side of the line which needs some help. Getting Jenkins back would be a huge boost to the Packers line. The offensive line looks really good already but getting Jenkins back would help push them towards elite level. If Jenkins were to be available week 1, it would help dramatically. For now, it is simply good to see the star offensive lineman back at practice. Week 1 is still a couple of weeks away so he has time.

This news should help Packers fans calm down. The Packers are clearly committed to Jenkins and are going to find a way to keep him. He is a versatile talent that you do not just let walk out the door. The hope is he is ready week 1 but for now, Packers fans can be happy their star offensive lineman is back at practice.
