Former Steelers first-round pick Devin Bush is suddenly back in the AFC North with the Browns
Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

A little less than five years ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers thought they found their next Ryan Shazier when they drafted LB Devin Bush in the first round of out Michigan.

And he started off hot his rookie season, recording career highs in tackles, pass breakups and interceptions. But that's part of why he's not in Pittsburgh anymore, as a second-year knee injury mitigated his effectiveness over the duration of his rookie contract.

But per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Bush will be back in the division he started his career in:

Browns Sign Devin Bush

Unlike most NFL relationships, Bush and the Steelers didn't end on the best of terms with the former first-round pick questioning why the team declined his fifth-year option and seemingly taking a shot at the Steelers' culture and or Mike Tomlin after signing with the Seawhaksws last year:

“It had to do a lot with the culture," Bush told the Ian Furness Show last offseason. "Obviously, the history behind it is what it is. Talking to coach [Pete] Carroll on frequent occasions, I feel like it was a good fit,” said Bush. “He is extending that culture that he is familiar with. He is trying to get guys in there that just love football...

"...“I walked into his office, he has the music playing, has the pictures up, you know he is watching film. So I got the feel of he is dedicated. He’s all in and doesn’t think about nothing else but Seattle Seahawks and winning. If he puts that much time and energy into his work, I have to match it.”

Bush also trolled the Steelers after the team dropped their third game in a row last season, and has been a thorn in the sides of Steelers fans for some time.

And while he could be once again, this time for a division rival in Cleveland, Bush will need to worry about making the team first, seeing as he was primarily a special teams player in Seattle last year.
