Warriors’ Klay Thompson Got Angry With Media After Play-In Loss
Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

The Golden State Warriors’ 2023-24 NBA season came to a screeching halt on Tuesday night against the Sacramento Kings. They faced off in the 9 vs. 10 game of the NBA Play-In Tournament in the Western Conference and things didn’t go as planned for Golden State.

They were demolished, losing 118-94. There has been a lot of talk about what the future could hold, as many people believe that we saw the end of a dynasty on Tuesday night. Golden State has been one of the most dominant teams in the NBA for the last decade, but all good things must come to an end eventually.

For the Warriors, that could be their Big 3 era of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. While Curry and Green recently signed contract extensions, Thompson is set to hit free agency this summer.

Rumors have swirled about his future with the franchise. Key members of the Warriors, from teammates to head coach Steve Kerr, have been clear that they want to see Thompson back with the team. But, there is certainly a chance that he departs.

It is a major topic of discussion, but one that Thompson is not yet ready to talk about. He was asked about his future in Golden State by a reporter and Thompson did not respond positively to the question, getting irritated.

“We don’t want to talk about the season first? Wanna talk about the future… What’s up with y’all not wanting to live in the present, bro? It’s ridiculous,” Thompson said, via 95.7 The Game on X.

Emotions run high when a season comes to a close, especially given the circumstances surrounding the Warriors. If that was the final game of their Big 3, it certainly isn’t the way they wanted to go out.

Thompson had arguably the worst game of his career, setting a Warriors franchise record going 0-for-10 against the Kings. This is far from the storybook ending everyone was hoping to have, but Thompson’s legacy with Golden State is as impressive as anyone’s.
