When it’s all said and done, it’s possible that Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo finishes as one of the greatest NBA players of all time. As a matter of fact, more than a few folks already have the Greek Freak in their all-time top five.
For Antetokounmpo himself, however, the former back-to-back MVP is adamant that he hasn’t done enough to earn this honor. In fact, he doesn’t believe he’s even worthy of his own top-five list.
In a recent interview with Bally Sports Wisconsin, Antetokounmpo was asked to name his five greatest players of all time.
“I’m not putting them in order,” Giannis said. “[Michael Jordan], LeBron, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, Tim Duncan.”
Giannis then walked back on the fifth player on the list. Tim Duncan is undeniably one of the greatest big men to ever grace the NBA, but in his mind, Antetokounmpo decided to give up Duncan’s slot on his top five in favor of another legendary center:
“Tim Duncan or Shaq. That’s my 5. Probably say Shaq. Dominant,” Giannis concluded.
You can’t really blame him.
